Setting Up ADnull DNS for Safari

Last updated on Mar 19, 2026

Safari does not support DNS over HTTPS (DoH) at the browser level. DNS is configured at the system level via an Apple configuration profile. This means protection covers all device traffic — including Safari, Mail, App Store, and every other app.

How to configure

Download and install the ADnull profile directly from the Settings section of your ADnull account — in the Apple card.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Click the Apple Mobileconfig button in the Apple card

  2. Open Settings → a "Profile Downloaded" banner will appear → tap it

  3. Tap Install → confirm with your device passcode

  4. Tap Install again to confirm

  5. Tap Done

Mac

  1. Click the Apple Config for macOS button in the Apple card — a script will be downloaded

  2. Open Terminal and run the command shown in the dialog

  3. Enter your administrator password and press Enter

Done!

ADnull DNS is now active for the entire device. Safari and all other apps are protected — ads and trackers are blocked automatically.

FAQ

Why doesn't Safari have its own DoH settings?

Apple implemented DoH support at the operating system level (iOS 14+, macOS Big Sur+), not in individual apps. The profile therefore protects the entire device, not just the browser.

Is it safe to install the profile?

Yes. The profile only changes the device's DNS server. It has no access to your data, passwords, or encrypted traffic.

How do I check that DNS is working?

Click the Check connection button in the Settings section of your ADnull account.
